WE HAVE EXPERIENCE ASSISTING CLIENTS IN REGARD TO ISSUES RELATING TO ATTEMPTING TO GET OUT OF TIMESHARES. SOMETIMES TIMESHARES ARE LEGITIMATE AND SOMETIMES CLIENTS BELIEVE THEY ARE NOT LEGITIMATE. WHEN WE ARE CONTACTED BY CLIENTS IN REGARD TO TIMESHARE DISPUTES, IT USUALLY MEANS THEY HAVE TRIED TO GET OUT OF TIMESHARES ON THEIR OWN WITH NO SUCCESS OR THAT THEIR GOOD FAITH EFFORTS RESULTED IN OUR CLIENTS BECOMING MORE FRUSTRATED. THEY MAY HAVE PAID TOO MUCH FOR THE TIMESHARES, FALSELY BELIEVING THAT SAME WAS AN “INVESTMENT” IN REAL ESTATE. THEY MAY HAVE BEEN THE VICTIMS OF HIGH-PRESSURE SALES TACTICS. THERE MAY HAVE BEEN AN ATTEMPT TO CULTIVATE OUR CLIENTS BY SALES PROMOTIONS AND TECHNIQUES, INCLUDING FREE TICKETS, FREE DINNERS, FREE CRUISES AND OTHER PERKS. IN MANY SITUATIONS THERE IS NO INCENTIVE FOR A TIMESHARE COMPANY TO COOPERATE TO ASSIST IN RIDDING A BUYER OF THEIR DEBT. SOME CLIENTS BELIEVE IT IS SORT OF LIKE PURCHASING A HOME, SUBJECT TO A MORTGAGE, THEN THE PURCHASER NO LONGER WISHES TO OWN THE HOME AND BASICALLY ASKING THE BANK IF THEY CAN BE RELIEVED FROM THE NOTE AND MORTGAGE, EXCEPT WITH A HOME, ALTHOUGH SOMEWHAT MORE LIQUID, AT LEAST THERE IS A TANGIBLE ASSET THAT CAN BE SOLD TO ATTEMPT TO RECOUP ALL OR PART OF ANY AMOUNT PAID. WITH A TIMESHARE, IT IS DIFFERENT. THE AFTERMARKET ABILITY TO SELL TIMESHARES OR INTERESTS IN TIMESHARES IS FRAUGHT WITH COMPLEXITIES, DANGERS, RISKS AND IT CAN BE A FRUSTRATING, IF NOT DEFEATING, PATH TO ATTEMPT TO NAVIGATE ALONE.
